The Tamworth Con Community Orchestra (TCCO) is a large ensemble for string, woodwind, brass, and percussion players aged 13 and over, welcoming both youth and adult musicians. Formerly known as the Regional Youth Orchestra, the ensemble was rebranded in 2025 to reflect its inclusive and community-focused identity.
TCCO is suitable for players at approximately AMEB Grade 3 level or higher who are seeking to develop ensemble skills, technical confidence, and orchestral musicianship. Rehearsals focus on a diverse and engaging repertoire that strengthens listening skills, rhythmic precision, balance, and stylistic understanding.
Members benefit from the experience of performing in a full orchestral setting while developing discipline, teamwork, and musical responsibility. The ensemble regularly performs at major Conservatorium events, including the Showcase Concert, OrchFusion, the Tamworth Eisteddfod, and the annual Christmas Concert. These performances provide valuable opportunities to apply rehearsal learning in public performance contexts.
TCCO offers a supportive and motivating environment for musicians at different stages of their musical journey. Whether continuing established studies or returning to an instrument, members are encouraged to contribute positively to the ensemble and take pride in collective musical achievement.
TCCO rehearses on Thursdays from 5:15–6:45 pm at the Tamworth Town Hall
Rehearsals are directed by Noelene Bosworth and Todd Power
Intakes for new ensemble members are generally in the first two weeks of each school term. Contact us for more information or complete an enrolment form.
