The Piano program at the Con offers Piano and Keyboard tuition for beginner and advanced students aged from four years to adults. Programs are designed to guide students to explore their musical potential by developing musicianship and technique to the highest level. The program embraces all performance styles Including classical, jazz, popular, blues, and other contemporary styles.

Students may, if they wish, study the Australian Music Examination Board Classical syllabus or Piano for Leisure syllabus, and undertake Examinations. Students are also encouraged to undertake Musicianship or Music Craft offered by the Conservatorium.

In addition to individual tuition, students are able to gain performance experience in a friendly environment by participating in Conservatorium events.

Senior piano students can also participate in the Orchestral Program and join the Percussion Section of the Regional Youth Orchestra.

 

INDIVIDUAL TUITION

Lessons are available in blocks of 15, 30, 45 and 60 minutes. All times are negotiable; 30 minutes per week is the most popular length.

 

SCHOOLS PROGRAM

The Conservatorium offers individual piano lessons at Duri Public School, Nundle Public SchoolSt. Joseph's Catholic School and St. Nicholas' Catholic School. For more information regarding lessons in schools, please contact Isaac Smith in the office.

 

GROUP TUITION

The Conservatorium offers a beginner keyboard group, Junior Keyboard.

 

ENSEMBLES

Pianists can apply to join the Con’s orchestral program, Regional Youth Orchestra, as pianists or percussionists.
