Strumming Birds

Strum, sing, and enjoy making music together

Strumming Birds is a welcoming ukulele ensemble for adults aged 18 and over, suitable for beginner to intermediate players. The group provides a relaxed and supportive environment where participants can develop their musical skills while enjoying the social and creative benefits of ensemble music-making.

Rehearsals focus on building confidence with strumming patterns, chord transitions, rhythm, and basic ensemble playing. Members learn a wide range of accessible and enjoyable songs, allowing them to experience progress while developing consistency and musical fluency. The ukulele’s approachable nature makes it an ideal instrument for adults seeking a low-pressure and enjoyable way to engage with music.

Beyond technical development, Strumming Birds fosters strong social connections. Participants rehearse with like-minded adults in a friendly atmosphere that encourages collaboration, encouragement, and shared enjoyment. These social interactions contribute to a sense of belonging and sustained motivation.

The ensemble performs at selected Conservatorium events throughout the year, providing members with opportunities to share their music with an audience in a positive and supportive performance setting. Whether learning for the first time or returning to a long-held interest, Strumming Birds offers an engaging and fulfilling musical experience for adult ukulele players.
