Sinfonia is a string chamber ensemble for adult musicians and over who wish to maintain, extend, and enjoy their instrumental skills in a collaborative and supportive setting. The ensemble provides a structured environment where players can engage with a diverse range of repertoire while developing ensemble awareness and musical confidence.
Rehearsals focus on refining technique, ensemble balance, intonation, and stylistic interpretation. Members explore repertoire spanning classical and contemporary works, allowing them to experience a variety of musical styles while strengthening their chamber music skills. Emphasis is placed on attentive listening, musical responsiveness, and cohesive group performance.
Participation in Sinfonia supports ongoing musical growth while offering the enjoyment that comes from making music with others. Regular rehearsals foster a sense of shared purpose, motivation, and artistic satisfaction. The ensemble environment also encourages social connection, with members forming strong relationships through collective rehearsal and performance experiences.
Sinfonia performs at Conservatorium events throughout the year, providing members with opportunities to present their work in public performance settings. Whether maintaining established skills or exploring new musical challenges, Sinfonia offers a fulfilling and enriching chamber music experience for adult string players.
Sinfonia rehearses on Wednesdays from 6:30–7:30 pm at the Conservatorium
