Chamber Singers is a selective vocal ensemble for experienced singers aged 18 and over who are committed to high-quality choral performance. The group explores a demanding and stylistically diverse repertoire, including early sacred works, contemporary choral music, and carefully curated modern arrangements, performed both a cappella and with accompaniment.
Members are admitted by audition and are expected to demonstrate prior choral experience, confident music-reading skills, and the ability to blend effectively within a SATB ensemble. Rehearsals emphasise musical accuracy, stylistic awareness, and vocal technique, supporting the development of both ensemble cohesion and individual musicianship.
Chamber Singers regularly represents the Conservatorium at major events such as Showcase Concerts, the Tamworth Eisteddfod, and the annual Christmas Concert in the Chapel Theatre. The ensemble also performs for special occasions, including weddings and commemorative services, reflecting its consistent performance standard and strong connection with the local community.
Participation offers singers the opportunity to engage with challenging repertoire, refine their skills, and contribute to a focused and collaborative musical environment.
Chamber Singers rehearses on Tuesdays from 6–7 pm in the Chapel Theatre
Rehearsals are directed by Todd Power
