Guitar + Ukulele

Strum, pick, groove – make music that travels

Guitar and ukulele are flexible, portable instruments with immediate musical pay-off and long-term depth. At the Tamworth Regional Conservatorium of Music, students can learn acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, and ukulele through individual lessons that are tailored to age, experience, and musical goals. Beginners build strong fundamentals, including posture, hand position, rhythm, chord changes, and basic reading or chord charts, while more experienced players develop technique, tone, stylistic fluency, and performance confidence.

Our tutors support a wide range of styles, including pop, rock, country, blues, jazz, folk, and classical approaches. Students who enjoy creating can also explore songwriting, accompaniment skills, improvisation, and ensemble playing. For younger learners, ukulele is often an ideal starting point due to its smaller size and soft strings, while guitar offers a broader range of musical roles from solo playing to band performance. Whether you’re learning for enjoyment, school performance, or serious development, guitar and ukulele provide a practical pathway into lifelong music-making.
