Young string players are invited to be part of something bigger than themselves these Winter school holidays: a lively, welcoming string orchestra buzzing with shared sound and growing confidence. Open to students from Year 2 to Year 12, this three-day workshop celebrates inclusivity, curiosity, and the joy of playing together.
Held at the Chapel Theatre, daily sessions run from 10am–3pm and blend focused learning with fun. Students take part in tutti rehearsals, sectional tutorials, musicianship workshops, chamber music, music games, and solo performance practice, all guided by encouraging and experienced TRCM string teachers. With a mix of repertoire styles, there’s something to challenge and inspire every player.
The week culminates in a relaxed, family-friendly concert on Sunday afternoon, where friends and families are invited to enjoy the results
of three rich days of ensemble music-making – celebrating teamwork, progress, and the thrill of performance.
